Hey everyone!

A lot has happened. Sorry I never got around to posting about camp again. The rest of the year was a whirlwind after I got back, with too much to explain, so I'll just get to the more recent updates.

I'm moved back in up at school. Finally starting my last final semester! We have tomorrow (monday) off, then we start Tuesday morning. I am taking equine nutrition, fundamental theories of riding, management of equine activities, senior seminar, and I am in intro to huntseat again. I have a different riding instructor, who I have only heard good things about, so I am looking forward to meeting her on Tuesday. I'm still sad I won't be riding dressage, but at least I know more about huntseat, and I ended last semester on a good note, so I am hoping to improve even more this semester.

I am also starting to look around for potential places to work. As much as I want to work outside directly with horses, I have a few specific health problems that make working outside, epecially in winter, very dangerous for me. I broadened my search to agricuture related jobs. I wouldn't mind an entry level desk job to get started, but I want something that I can stick with and make into a career that won't always lead to desk work.

The last couple of weeks have been really hard on me. Dec 20 was 16 years since my grandmother passed away. She meant the world to me. Her passing sparked a whole set of... painful events culminating in some memories I wish were still repressed. Long story short, this time of year is incredibly difficult for me, but I am almost out of the woods for now, I hope. As long as there is hope, there is still positive progress.

Games: Over break I recieved World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy XV as christmas gifts. World of Final Fantasy is so adorable!!! There are honestly points where I just can't handle the adorableness. But it is a lot of fun, and reminds me a lot of Kingdom Hearts, which holds a special place in my gamer heart.

Final Fantasy XV is super fun! I have been using a spreadsheet to try and do all of the quests and hunts. I'm a completionist gamer, haha. It gves me something enjoyable to do, at least. I am also working through Dishonored 2 (Emily's story), and Alien: Isolation.

Recently, I picked up Orwell on Steam. I can't play it at school, but I knocked it out in a few days back home. It's a really cool futuristic 1984-esque game where you are an investigator looking into political activists and trying to solve who set off bombs and where the next one will be, by only using clues from the internet. Ok, so that description doesn't sound terribly thrilling, but I enjoyed it! I need to replay it one or two more times to finish getting all of the achievements on Steam.

(Shameless plug: If anyone wants to follow my gaming I'm on Twitch and Twitter.)

Tv/Movies: I haven't watched too many movies as of late. I recently saw Sing in theaters, and it was cute. I don't think I will get it on dvd, but I may stream it if it is on Netflix and I need some upbeat background noise.

I am about halfway through season 4 of Shameless. I stopped watching it for a bit because it's gotten very... boring. I feel like the characters lost the qualities that made them interesting in order to overplay the more dramatic features.

I also watched season 2 of Jane the Virgin. While it's a cute, charming, funny spoof, it also got rather boring with the played out back and forth romance. I get that it's supposed to be overdone drama, but that was... way more than overdone. It was downright copy/paste from episode to episode for too long.

I have been rewatching Supernatural and am on Season 4 Episode 12, as of right now. I honestly haven't seen past the start of season 6 before because when they switched writers and decided to go the angels route for good... well, I thought it got boring. I really liked when they started out and were looking at different enemies every episode, different stories, travelling around. I loved that. This time, I am going to try to make it all the way up to what is on netflix. Hopefully I can get past the sixth season and enjoy it this time.

Anyone have any movie recommendations? I'm always looking for movies to watch on Netflix!

Books: I haven't been reading too much. Nowhere near what I would like to. It's been difficult focusing lately. However, I recently began The Ocean at the End of the Lane (Neil Gaiman) and I am very intrigued. I will try to post a review about it when I am finished.

I also finished reading the Red Rising (Pierce Brown) trilogy. It was phenomenal! The writing in the first book felt rather amature-ish, but it noticably improved over the following two books. I felt like it had a good mix of "fight to the death", minor romantic subplot, political uprising, and plot twists. It really made me get hooked on certain characters, feel for them, hurt for them... Not to mention, the big plot twist at the end of part 2... I didn't see it going quite that way, and I was genuinely surprised and hurt by what happened. I recommend the series. Plus, the author is super cool. I was able to meet him last April and he was really friendly. He also engages with his fans rather frequently on social media, which is nice to see.

I think that's about it for now. I do plan to start posting a lot more now that things are quieting down. I have missed being here! I hope to get back to getting to know everyone again :)

I've been playing FFXIII for the first time. Apparently, I'm almost 50 hrs in; where does the time go. I wasn't a huge fan of FFXII so I find FFXIII a very welcomed surprise. I'll definitely try to catch up with FF games now.

I also just started Neverwhere, which is my first book by Gaiman. I originally knew him from comics, and hear such overwhelming positive things about his books (mainly American Gods) so I figure I'd try him out (even though my wife wasn't a huge fan). So far, so good.

It's so easy to lose yourself in those kind of games and lose track of times. I love games like that. FFXV Is a major change from pretty much any other FF game, in that there is so much more to do and explore. It's linear, but less unforgiving, in that you can do all of the side quests at any point once they're unlocked. So you could, if you wanted, go right through the story related missions to get the lore and what is going on, then afterward you can spend all of the time in the world exploring and doing everything else.

I adore Gaiman. He is easily one of my top 3 favorite authors. I haven't gotten to read Neverwhere, but I have heard great reviews. American Gods was fantastic! My favorite, though, by a long shot, is Good Omens, which he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett. It is the most sarcastic, entertaining apocalypse story that I have ever encountered, and I highly recommend it.

I definitely will try to work my up to FFXV.

And I'll probably continue to read more of Gaiman. Stardust would be next since my wife already has that book. I've heard positive things about Pratchett, but I'm somewhat hesitant because I don't know how much I like comedy in my books. But its good to try things out.
