Fair warning now, the bulk of this is probably going to be me getting frustrated with how the weekend went. I'll hide that part under a cut so it doesn't take up too much room on your f-list.

Starting with the good. After 3 disaster classes in a row, my latest riding class wasn't too bad. We had a massive thunderstorm hit fifteen  minutes before we went to the ring, and one of my classmates' horses was shaking so bad, he was terrified. We ended up only riding for about half an hour, and the instructor had me work on my own the whole time. It felt frustrating because she was working with the other two and ignoring me, but I guess that is a good thing? I'm trying to see it as she figured I knew what I was doing enough that I wasn't a concern. I worked on leg strengthening, so I guess it was productive. Irish was very well behaved, if somewhat slow moving. I am supposed to be jumping him in our lesson tomorrow.

So, a few years back, I picked up a Windows 8 laptop, back when Win8 had just started rolling out on new laptops. It was a decent mid-range touchscreen, that could run about half of my Steam library decently well. A couple of years back, a small child relative stepped on it and it cracked the screen right down the middle. It still looks fine (when you ignore the crack), but the touchscreen function is massively inaccurate and covered in dead spots, so I just keep the feature disabled. When Win8.1 rolled out, my laptop lost almost all usefulness. Somehow, in the update, it could no longer display to a second screen, the bluetooth function stopped working entirely, and the sound... The sound was completely lost. It couldn't even find its own speakers, when they had worked just fine right before the update. Apparently, all of these were common bugs for people who did the update. Supposedly, downloading the drivers fixed it for some people, but I was not one of those people. At the time, I had my desktop accessible and could use it for most things. When I moved up North for school, I couldn't exactly bring my desktop, so instead I got a nice little Win10 (that fried itself after a few months... that's a story for another time. I am living with a Chromebook for now). When I was home over break, I dug out my external hard drive and brought it, and my Win8.1, back with me. On Sunday, I finally got around to pulling everything off of the laptop, and reset the whole thing. Like magic, everything is back to functioning just fine. The web browser runs a bit slow, for some reason, but everything else works the same as it did when I got it out of the box. I forgot how nice the sound is, and I missed having the bigger, clearer screen. I'm happy to have it back.

Gaming: I have slowly been working on my Age of Triumphs record book in Destiny. I really just want to hit Rank 7 soon so I can order my t-shirt from the Bungie site! I have also been looking into preordering Destiny 2. I was going to order it digitally, but I would have to remove Destiny in order to make enough space. Plus, if I want the special version its' one hundred freaking dollars!!! The difference is all digital! Now, if they sent me an art book in the mail, I'd say yes, sign me up. But they don't, so I figure I will get a physical copy. I keep forgetting I have a preorder on one of the Destiny expansions at GameStop, so I think I will move it over as a preorder for Destiny 2.

TV Shows: I got a few more episodes into Voltron legendary Defender, and am really enjoying it. I also started rewatching Archer and am already on Season 3. This show makes me laugh, which I needed after everything this weekend. There is an app to go with the new season that just started last week, and I asked my mother to record it so I can catch up when I am back in town. I'm really interested to see how they use the augmented reality app and tie it into the show.

Here is to a drama-free week for everyone!
